The Answer To Abject Poverty Is Here - The Tesifa Project. It seems like just yesterday we were starting off with a 2-pound bag of rice, determined to do more than just watch as people literally starve to death. We are determined to help the people of East Africa make a permanent “life-giving” change for themselves and their families...
'You and Me Forever' perfectly symbolizes Pat Bradley's turning point. It brought to light the remarkable story of the birth of Crisis Aid International. "When you’re on a mission. When God puts this thing in your heart, and you really find it, it is not work, it’s a privilege..."
"I Don't Know Why You [Rescued Me] But You Saved My Life." THANK YOU - One of the greatest needs a human being has is to know that they are loved. That is what keeps bringing them back, sure the food is important but love is more important. To us we may be building a building, or giving food, or drilling a water well -- but to them: it is a miracle. Often times things look impossible...but for us, we ask: "but how are we going to do this?" "REFUSE TO DO NOTHING"
Thank you. As you look through these pictures, know that YOU are one of the special individuals that made these life-saving transformations possible. The smiles on these mothers’ faces say more than we could ever express with words. Their children are thriving today because of your generosity.
Meet Terenet. This is the beginning of his story, not the end. We stay connected to families we serve through the feeding programs across the regions we support. Over the years we watch the children who would most likely have died if it weren't for generous donations and people who refuse to do nothing. Now we see them not only surviving but thriving, growing, learning, and helping others. While visiting a new family in the feeding program in a very remote part of East Africa we came across a severely malnourished boy who also was a cripple - simply sitting on his mat. What happened after that is inspiring. This video highlights exactly what happens when we see a need.
This year, our goal is to attack abject poverty head-on by giving back every basic need this scourge has robbed from these famished children. Our programs address the need for food, safe drinking water, health care, shelter, and education.
2017 was a year blessed by God and you. You literally came to the rescue of people you have never met. You selflessly stepped out and became their hero... the difference between life and death for many of them and an answer to many desperate prayers. They may never have the privilege of knowing you, but we do, and we THANK YOU for being that life-giving answer for them. Below is a list of what you helped make possible this past year...
Allow me to tell you about one girl. The one that would not survive if you had not prayed and given your money. Let me introduce you to Tishala.
When we first met her, she was close to dying! Tishala’s family lives in a single room hut with no running water or electricity in an extremely impoverished village. Little Tishala lost her mother when she was a newborn baby, leaving her father, Shomari, to care for her, his aging mother and four of his younger brothers. There were seven people living under one small roof when we met them.
