Your 2020 Gratitude and Impact Report | Crisis Aid International

Celebrating

A year filled with hardship — and so much love.

You have performed miracles this past year! You’ve witnessed people facing unimaginable hardships, here in St. Louis and around the globe. So many people suffering, in pain, in crisis. Although it’s been a year filled with hardship, it’s also been a year filled with love in action. And that is something to celebrate.

Because of you, hundreds more girls across the globe were saved from a life of trauma and abuse. Because of you, thousands more families in St. Louis received essential food. Because of you, hundreds of thousands of people in Africa received life-changing medical care and food.

This Gratitude Report is designed to celebrate you — your faith and your devotion to helping those who are desperate for help.

Throughout these pages, you’ll have the chance to meet and celebrate other generous friends like you, who share what they love about their involvement with Crisis Aid. You’ll also learn just what an incredible impact your giving has had over the past year.

You truly make a meaningful difference to so many people. We are so grateful to have this chance to celebrate you as a member of the Crisis Aid family!

COMMUNITY HELPING COMMUNITY

Community Helping Community was born in response to the vulnerable and millions who have lost their jobs and the ability to provide for their family in light of COVID – 19.

We bring hope, dignity, and tangible expressions of Love to empower individuals, families, and other organizations to do the same.

Community. It shares a sense of belonging, partnership, support, connection, and fellowship. While recovering from the effects of COVID-19, that sense of community is needed more than ever as many people have lost their source of income, experienced the loss of a loved one, or have felt loneliness on a new level. As members of your community, we refuse to do nothing and we invite you to refuse to do nothing. If you or someone you know is in need, we are here to show love, be love, and be a blessing through giving. Together, making a difference.

The World I See – 2019 – Crisis Aid

The World I See

“I Don’t Know Why You [Rescued Me] But You Saved My Life.”

THANK YOU

One of the greatest needs a human being has is to know that they are loved.
That is what keeps bringing them back, sure the food is important but love is more important. To us we may be building a building, or giving food, or drilling a water well — but to them: it is a miracle.  Often times things look impossible…but for us, we ask: “but how are we going to do this.”
“REFUSE TO DO NOTHING”

Help Us Give To 200 Students

Will you help us give backpacks to 200 students who live below the poverty line St. Louis Missouri?

YOU ARE THE DIFFERENCE!

In partnership with Confluence Academy in St. Louis where 97% of the children and families survive below the poverty level, you will be an incredible blessing to these precious families who need your help. The impact you are making by giving and sponsoring the needs of one child at a time will enable us to give a tangible expression of Jesus Christ’s love and care.

This year we will host the 200 families at a shopping event where we give the parents the opportunity to have a ‘shopping experience’ with their families. In turn giving dignity, honor, and support to each and every individual.

Last year, one mother text us: “I trust u and it’s not many I do. We have no family here. Ur the closest we have to it. I thank God for having u and ur church family. I don’t know where these children would be if it wasn’t for u time. May God be with u all in Jesus Name.”

Will You Give Today?

If you wish to give items purchased, HERE is a link to the school supplies list of items we need.

Wings 2017 Year End Report

WINGS Bless this House

Wings 2017 – YEAR END REPORT

Dear Friends,

Wings / Love & Care is blessed with incredible volunteers and a small group of donors. It is important you know YOU ARE VITAL to this ministry. Because of you, 14,239 people were served in 2017. Thank you for showing love and care to families and children in St. Louis.

Your Food Distribution Program served 14,239 people in 2017. More than 71,272 pounds of food filled the cupboards and fridges of families in need. We were blessed to continue providing meat on a regular basis as well as fresh vegetables, fruit, canned goods, dry goods and desserts as available. Your giving made this possible! Our faithful volunteers continued to package the food each week and keep the Center clean and organized.

We are thankful to be able to continue the weekly After School Program and also offer Summer VBS to the children in the community. These programs have helped us build relationships with the children and families and provided a safe place for the children to come work on homework, learn about Jesus, receive a meal and benefit from many recreational activities. We continue to partner with Confluence Academy through distribution events to children in the school. We partnered with backpack distribution and a wonderful Christmas party.

In addition, the children who attend the Wings After School Program also benefited from these outreaches and also received backpacks and Christmas presents.

We hosted the annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution and Christmas Food Distribution as well, providing families the opportunity to prepare and enjoy holiday meals at home.

In total, you provided the following services in 2017:

Christmas gifts made by the children for their families.

197 Children received Backpacks & School Supplies

 150 Children received Coats and dozens Hats & Gloves

 200 Adults received Coats

 201 Families received Thanksgiving Groceries

 113 Children received 4-5 Christmas Gifts

 162 Families received Christmas Groceries

 10 Weeks of Vacation Bible School /Special Outings

 44 Weeks of After School Program with special activities for all Holidays

 14,239 People (4,788 Families) received 71,272 pounds of food from weekly Food Distributions

Your gifts and faithful partnership provided services to the children, and individuals, families, churches, and businesses expanded our capacity to do more in 2017 than ever.

Christmas party note from Stephanie Glore, Crisis Aid Staff member:

“Yesterday God did a work in my heart like only He can do.

Seeing 38 families blessed with a Christmas is a joy I can’t describe. Hearing their stories and hearing how they would not be having a Christmas if it wasn’t for yesterday is beyond humbling. (Because) it reminds me to be thankful for what my family does have, and it’s humbling knowing God chose each one of us to be their help in this season.

I watched sponsors provide toys for kids, clothes, and shoes for kids and their parents, electronics and small appliances parents cannot afford, basic house cleaning supplies and toilet paper, gift cards for Christmas dinner groceries, and even a bed provided for a mom and dad that sleep on the couch and floor. The generosity and care that was poured on to these families were incredible and so touching.

What a reminder….As Pat (Crisis Aid International Founder) told each person yesterday in tears…how much God loves each of us. How much HE sees each of us. How much HE cares about exactly where we are right this second. What a day what a word straight to my heart. Serving other brings more joy and fulfillment than any other thing.”

It was a beautiful event. The families were so touched by the generosity of the donors. 38 families received Christmas and they were truly grateful for all they received. The families truly had no way to provide Christmas for their family. There were 113 children and 53 adults that were provided Christmas in 2017.

A family blessed during the Christmas season.

THANK YOU for restoring dignity, providing encouragement, meeting basic needs and providing many blessings to families in south St. Louis with great love and care.

We hope you will continue walking with us in 2018 to provide services with dignity through donations, volunteer service, and gift-in-kind donations. God bless you!

By His grace,

Sue & Pat Bradley & Team

Katlyn Eyes

A model was used for the pictures so we can protect the identity and dignity of the survivors we serve.

You can help make her SOMEDAY start today.

There are more than 244,000 American children at risk of being trafficked each year1. These are not children in a far off land, but children from our own backyard.

In 2016 alone, the FBI and their affiliates reported arresting nearly 2,600 traffickers and rescuing approximately 6,000 children2; and these are just the ones we know about. Polaris estimates that the total number of victims nationally reaches into the hundreds of thousands — including both adults and minors victimized by trafficking3.

Our Refuge home in the U.S. has had the unique privilege of serving over 155 of these girls caught in the horrors of trafficking. Some are children and some are adults that have been trafficked for many years.

KATLYN’S STORY: At a very early age, Katlyn had already lived a life filled with more horror and tragedy than most of us could ever imagine. When she was very young, a neighborhood boy began using her and “giving” her to his friends. She had become property that he sold for drugs and money.

Katlyn was a runaway and, at the age of 16, came to our Refuge home in early spring. Through our Home’s programs, love, patience, and perseverance, we began seeing Katlyn transform before our very eyes. Now, 17 years old, she is attending high school again and has a 3.3 GPA. For the first time since Katlyn can remember, she is happy.

“I never realized how much I was worth until now. This place has given me hope again.”

Many others at our Refuge home have said that without our loving care they don’t know what would have happened to them.

The Fight Against The Evil Of Sex Trafficking Is Far From Over.

There are so many girls just like Katlyn still waiting for someone to help them. We have the space to double the number of girls we currently serve, but our financial resources limit us. Please consider being a part of their rescue. Your donation is life-changing!

Thank you for all you do. We are so blessed to have you as part of this journey and we know we cannot do this without your support.

God Bless You, Pat and Sue Bradley

Christmas Stories and Joyful Refections

“Yesterday God did a work in my heart like only He can do.

Seeing 38 families blessed with a Christmas is a joy I can’t describe. Hearing their stories and hearing how they would not be having a Christmas if it wasn’t for yesterday is beyond humbling. {Because} it reminds me to be thankful for what my family does have, and it’s humbling knowing God chose each one of us to be their help in this season.

I watched sponsors provide toys for kids, clothes for kids and mom’s and dads, shoes, electronics their parents can’t afford, small appliances needed like toasters and microwaves, basic house cleaning supplies and toilet paper bc these families have hard times getting those things, gift cards for Christmas dinner groceries, and even a bed provided for a mom and dad that sleep on the couch and floor. The generosity and care that was poured onto these families was amazing and so touching.

I watched a team that was already stretched thin work exhausting hours to create an atmosphere for everyone that walked into the gym and make them feel so special. Down to the smallest details, this team went above and beyond. ALL to make them feel special loved, and seen. To show them Jesus in such a mighty way. A team that was tired, but found so much joy in serving each and every one of these wonderful families. An amazing team. They inspire me.

What a reminder… As Pat (Crisis Aid International Founder) told each person yesterday in tears… How much God loves each of us. How much HE sees each of us. How much HE cares about exactly where we are right this second. What a day and what a word straight to my heart. Serving others brings more joy and fulfillment than any other thing.”
