This year, we look back at 20 years of things you helped make possible. From America to Afghanistan, East Africa to Haiti, you have been with us, step by step, walking the path our Lord has set before us.
Over the past year alone: You helped purchase a plot of land that will soon house a new dairy barn – a home for 30 additional cows. Plus, you helped plant 1,000 trees, which are growing well and producing fruit to supplement the feeding program. You also helped open a new restaurant, The Red Rope. Like our OH! Dairy Store, the restaurant will help provide occupational training to girls rescued from the Red Light district.
Thank you for helping us start the C.H.C. (Community Helping Community) program during COVID-19 to meet the increased need for food in communities in the St. Louis Region. The idea was to engage kind-hearted people to work together to help their hungry neighbors – and strengthen overall community spirit. In less than two years, with your loving support, the impact of this ground-breaking program has exploded!
Because of you, hundreds more girls across the globe were rescued from a life of trauma and abuse. Because of you, thousands more families in St. Louis received essential food. Because of you, hundreds of thousands of people in Africa received life-changing medical care and food. This Gratitude Report is designed to celebrate you...
You never know where you may end up just by taking one small step. then doing it again... I was looking directly into the eyes of women “not yet rescued,” women who were celebrating with their friends the afternoon, but tonight would step back into the doorway of their variegated tin shed— just big enough for a bed—and sell their bodies for $2.
Through these community partners, you and donors like you have provided groceries to 2,000 families every two weeks since Covid-19 started to take effect. Families like Jordan’s. One food box at a time, one connection at a time, each relationship adds another branch within a local web of support. Because building relationships with our neighbors heals us.
A Generation of Love - Your 2019 Gratitude Report. You are part of a special group of people. When you see someone in pain, broken, and suffering, you stand together and take action. Thank you for being there for the innocent and vulnerable. Over the past year, your caring and compassionate support have saved so many lives. Starving children are now healthy and whole. Young girls have been rescued from a life of sexual slavery.
The mission is to rescue as many survivors as possible and break the cycle of sexual abuse and exploitation before it's too late. Sex trafficking is like a ravenous disease that is destroying the very fabric of our country. It devours everyone it touches and is sweeping through America like wildfire.
It was a look that you never forget. Ten-month-old Zuberi was beyond the initial pain of weeks without nourishment. Numb to the situation we found him in, his stare reflected a resignation of hopelessness. His protruding belly was in sharp contrast to his exposed rib cage -- it was a wonder he was still alive.
Because of your faithful prayers and support, we have found a way to never leave another girl behind. Mercy Chapel and Vocational School, once a filthy, rundown brothel, is a beacon of hope to girls trapped in the unimaginable horrors of sex trafficking. Your compassion and willingness to join in our efforts to turn despair into joy has made all the difference in the world in hundreds of precious girls’ lives. We can’t thank you enough.
